In this new series, The Descent, I continue to explore my dreams while traveling deeper into my inner world. I have long been a fan of Dante’s poem, The Inferno, which speaks of the complicated geography of his emotional and psychological journey.

Equally influential were the writings of C.G. Jung on dreams and their symbols which greatly informed the creative expression in this series; the Inner Guides, the Archetypes, the Shadow, and especially The Goddesses have given me a richer understanding of the stages in the journey to the dark places of the soul.

Using collage as my guide, I aim to reveal this forbidden ground. By working with a variety of materials, treated and dyed papers, manipulated wine tops and vintage threads, I am able to weave my own visual landscape wherein lies the geography of my journey.
